Slumdog Millionaire - A.S Swarup
Originally published as Q & A, this is the book that became the multiple award winning movie. However it's a little different from the film. It follows the same structure, but there were quite a few changes made when it was adapted for the screen. Nevertheless, this is an interesting, well written and entertaining read. The story of Ram Mohammed Thomas, who through a series of misadventures learns all he'll need to know in order to win the jackpot on Who Wants to be a Billionaire, and then gets arrested, accused of cheating, and reveals his story, and how he came to know all the answers. It's a story with a heart, without giving too much away as to how it differs from the film and how the ending works out, I'd recommend reading it if you have seen the film, and if you haven't. It was used more as inspiration than a direct book to film adaptation, so even if you think you know the story, they'll be a few surprises.
