One of the first books I sent via bookmooch received a thank you that read "more manna from bookmooch", I didn't get it then, I do now! Bookmooch is a website where you list any books you want to give away and people "mooch" them. You get points, which you then use to mooch books from others. All it costs is postage, and that doesn't cost as much as new books.
I like secondhand books, rummaging in charity shops and book fairs, so bookmooch is ideal for me. It won't suit everyone. There are certain books I would never give away, and certain books I'll probably never find secondhand, but half the fun is the quest.
