Funny!!

There is a very short list of writers/books I can't read on public transport because I start laughing and embarrass myself. It's anything by Terry Pratchett, Marc Acito's How I Paid for College & Attack of the Theatre People, Bravemouth and Billy by Pamela Stephenson, Gideon Defoe's Pirates! in an adventure with... series, and funny poems. There are also some books that can't be read in public because they're too depressing and make me sad, but the problem with them is that until you've read them you just can't tell whether they'll be sad or not. The funny ones are mostly from tried and tested embarrassment. Sometimes I think it might be safer to just read at home, but then there's nothing to do to keep myself occupied on bus and tube journeys apart from people watch, and that can have it's own awkward side effects!!
