The Long Night of Leo and Bree - Ellen Wittlinger

This is an odd little book, more of a novella than a full-blown novel. It tells the story of Leo, who's struggling with the anniversary of his sister's murder four years previously, and Bree, girl in a bad neighbourhood. Leo sees her walking around and decides to kidnap her, why should she be alive when his sister isn't. As they spend the night together, they talk and Leo's pain unravels. Not a lot really happens in terms of plot, but the emotional turnmoil of the two characters is well presented, as chapters alternate between Leo and Bree's point of view. It's a short read, and if you're looking for something a little more filling, I'd look elsewhere.
