Like People in History - Felice Picano
Described in the blurb as 'the gay Gone With the Wind', this chronicles the life long friendship of cousins Alaistair Dodge and Roger Sansarc. It jumps back and forth from different moments in their lives, from their first meeting in 1954 to their present day lives. I'm not sure the description holds up, but as this is a sweeping narrative, I can sort of see the comparison. It's well written and enjoyable, easy to read and the characters are sympathetic and likeable.
